A clay slip trailing workshop is a hands-on class teaching the technique of slip trailing in ceramics. This decorative method involves applying liquid clay (slip) to the surface of a pottery piece using a squeeze bottle or fine-tipped applicator to create raised patterns, textures, or intricate designs.

🏺 What You Can Expect from a Clay Slip Trailing Workshop:

🔹 Overview of Slip Trailing

  • Introduction to slip and how it's made (often coloured with oxides or stains).

  • Explanation of the right consistency and tools needed (squeeze bottles, nozzles.

🔹 Demonstrations

  • Techniques for line control, dotting, and layering.

  • Creating patterns: geometric, organic, floral, or freestyle.

🔹 Hands-On Practice

  • Experimenting on tiles or test pieces.

  • Working on your own pottery pieces.

We will be making either a bowl for wall piece during the workshop and items will be ready to collect 2 weeks after the event.
